3 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait ben Haddou kasbah – Gorges de Dades:

Our 3 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will commence when we pick you up from your accommodation or the Menara airport in Marrakech. From there, we’ll head straight to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, traversing the High Atlas via Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 meters above sea level).

The Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou is a small fortified town located in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The city was built in the 11th century and served as a stronghold for the Berber people. The Kasbah has a unique architecture that features a mixture of African, Arab, and European influences.

Our Marrakech desert excursion continues after lunch to Ouarzazate, where you will explore the Atlas film studio before heading forward to Dades Gorges, where you can find kasbahs and mud-brick settlements in this area. You’ll have a peaceful night’s sleep at a lovely neighborhood hotel.

Day 2: Gorges of Dades – gorges of Toudra – Merzouga:

Prepare yourself to explore the breathtaking scenery of southeast Morocco after a sumptuous breakfast at your hotel. As we pass through Boumalne, we’ll pause to get stunning images of the Dades Valley.

The next leg of the journey from Marrakech will take us to Tinghir. From there, we’ll continue to the Todra Gorge to see the 200m cliffs. After lunch, we’ll continue through the beautiful landscapes and oases of Tafilalt.

Moving on to the Merzouga Sahara desert, you’ll see that the fascinating Erg Chebbi dunes are also known as Merzouga Dunes. When you reach the desert, you will change your 4X4 vehicle into a camel. Get ready for an hour-and-a-half-long camel trek. This will allow you to watch the sunset from the dromedary’s back. After the sunset, you will proceed to the camp to spend the night in a typical nomad tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

You’ll ride your camels back to the Auberge after taking in the stunning sunrise over the dunes and eating breakfast.

Today will be a long driving day to the “red city” of Marrakech, winding your way through Rissani and Dades Gorges to reach Ouarzazate city, the land of filmmaking and film production internationally. Upon arrival in Marrakech, you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation, where your 3 days from Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour will be completed, in an unforgettable journey.
