10 Days Morocco Tour from Rabat

Day 1: Rabat, Asilah and Tangier

Welcome to Rabat, the capital of Morocco! On the first day of your 10-day tour, we will explore some of the beautiful cities in Northern Morocco. Our journey begins with a visit to Asilah, a small coastal town located just 46 km south of Tangier. Asilah is famous for its well-preserved Portuguese architecture and beautiful beaches. We will stroll around the Medina, admire the colorful murals on the walls, and enjoy a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean.

After Lunch, we will continue our journey from Asilah to Tangier, one of Morocco’s most cosmopolitan cities. Tangier is a cultural melting pot that has inspired many writers and artists over the years. We will explore Tangier’s Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its small streets, lanes, and markets. We’ll also go to the Kasbah Museum, which has a fantastic collection of Moroccan arts and crafts.

In the afternoon, we will drive to Cape Spartel, a beautiful headland that marks the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar. From here, we will have a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. We will also visit the Caves of Hercules, a natural wonder that has been carved out by the sea over millions of years.

Finally, we will drive back to Rabat, where we will spend the night. We will have dinner at a traditional Moroccan restaurant and sample some of the country’s delicious cuisine.

Day 2: Tangier to Chefchaouen

On the second day of our 10-day Morocco tour, after a delicious breakfast, we will leave Tangier and head to the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen. This charming mountain town is known for its blue-painted houses, narrow streets, and traditional markets. Our journey will take us through the Rif Mountains, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

Once we arrive in Chefchaouen, we will start exploring the town’s famous blue streets. We will visit the central plaza of Plaza Uta el-Hammam, surrounded by cafes and restaurants, where we can have lunch while taking in the views of the surrounding mountains. We will also visit the Kasbah Museum, which houses a small ethnographic museum with exhibits showcasing the history and culture of the town and its people.

In the afternoon, we will take a short hike to the nearby Ras el-Maa waterfall. The waterfall is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, and we can relax by the water or take a dip in the natural pools.

As the day comes to an end, we will head back to Chefchaouen and take a stroll through the town’s vibrant souks. Here, we can find local handicrafts, traditional clothing, and souvenirs to bring back home. We will also have the opportunity to try some of the local cuisine, such as the famous Moroccan tajine, before retiring for the night at our hotel.

Day 3: Chefchaouen, Meknes, Volubilis and Fes

On the third day of our 10-day Morocco tour, we will leave Chefchaouen and head to the ancient city of Meknes. Along the way, we will stop at the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will have a guided tour of the site, which includes the impressive triumphal arch, the Capitoline Temple, and the ancient Roman baths.

After visiting Volubilis, we will continue our journey to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. We will visit the Bab Mansour gate, one of the most famous landmarks in the city. We will also visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the ruler who made Meknes the capital of Morocco in the 17th century.

After lunch, we will go to Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual centre.

Exploring the Fes Medina, an intricate network of narrow lanes and curving streets, will be the highlight of our afternoon.

Our journey will lead us to the renowned Bou Inania Madrasa, an impeccably preserved theological school that stands as a testament to Morocco’s heritage. Additionally, we’ll visit the tanneries to witness the age-old leather-making process, immersing ourselves in the traditions of the region.

In the night, we’ll dine at a traditional Moroccan restaurant and listen to live music and entertainment. We’ll spend the night at our Fes hotel, getting ready for another exciting day in this wonderful city.

Day 4: Fes Guided Tour

On the fourth day of our 10-day Morocco tour, after breakfast, we will continue our exploration of Fes, one of Morocco’s most culturally significant cities. We will begin our day with a guided tour of the historic Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

We will start at the royal palace, where we can admire the beautiful golden doors and intricate mosaics. From there, we will visit the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter of Fes. We will see the cemetery and the synagogue, and learn about the Jewish community’s rich history in Morocco.

After Lunch, we will next proceed to the Institution of Al Quaraouiyine, which was founded in 859 AD and is considered the world’s oldest university. We’ll be given a tour of the university’s library, which holds ancient manuscripts and Islamic books.

Next, we will visit the iconic Al-Attarine Madrasa, an Islamic theological school built in the 14th century. We will marvel at the intricate tile work and architecture, and learn about the history and traditions of Islamic education in Morocco.

In the afternoon, we will have some free time to explore the Medina on our own, shop for souvenirs, or try some of the local cuisine at one of the many street vendors or restaurants.

As the day comes to an end, we will gather for dinner at a traditional Moroccan restaurant and enjoy some of the local music and entertainment. We will spend another night at our hotel in Fes, ready for more adventures on our 10-day Morocco tour.

Day 5: Fes, Ifrane, and Merzouga Desert

On the fifth day of our 10-day Morocco tour, we will leave the bustling city of Fes and head towards the stunning Merzouga Desert. Our journey will take us through the beautiful cedar forest of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture and cool climate.

As we continue our drive, we will pass through the Ziz Valley, a picturesque landscape with palm trees, fields, and small villages. We will make a stop at Erfoud, known for its fossils and marble workshops, before arriving at the village of Merzouga, where we will embark on a desert adventure.

In the late afternoon, we will ride camels to the heart of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, where we will spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. We will witness the sunset over the dunes and enjoy a delicious traditional dinner under the stars.

We will also have the opportunity to experience traditional Berber music and dance around a campfire, immersing ourselves in the local culture.

Day 6: Merzouga Deser, Todra Gorges and Dades Valley

On the sixth day of our 10-day Morocco tour, we will wake up early in the heart of the Merzouga Desert, surrounded by towering sand dunes. We will watch the sunrise over the desert and enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast.

After breakfast, camel ride back to Merzouga village. Then, head to Todra Gorges through rocky desert and Berber villages. Pause at Tinghir to explore the Jewish quarter and old Kasbah.

Next, reach the Todra Gorges—a breathtaking canyon with 400-meter-high rock walls. Walk with a guide to admire nature’s beauty and learn about local geology and ecology.

Continuing our journey, we’ll drive to the Dades Valley, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and striking rock formations. Pausing at the Dades Gorges, a remarkable canyon featuring steep cliffs and meandering roads, we’ll capture stunning photos and savor the moment.

In the evening, we will have dinner and spend the night at our hotel in the Dades Valley, ready for another day of adventure on our 10-day Morocco tour.

Day 7: Dades Valley to Marrakech

On day 7 of your 10-day Morocco tour from Rabat, you’ll journey from Dades Valley to Marrakech, witnessing remarkable sights.

You’ll begin by crossing the striking Dades Valley with its rock formations and Berber villages. Experience lush greenery, flowing rivers, and the distant Atlas Mountains.

After lunch, pass through the renowned Tizi n’Tichka Pass, among Morocco’s highest at 2,260 meters. Enjoy stunning views and stop at roadside shops for local crafts.

Finally, you will arrive in Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most vibrant and bustling cities. Day 8: Marrakech Guided Tour

On day 8 of your 10-day Morocco tour from Rabat, you will embark on a guided tour of Marrakech, a vibrant city known for its bustling markets, stunning architecture, and rich cultural heritage.

Your tour will start with a visit to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech and an important religious landmark. You will then continue on to the Bahia Palace, a stunning 19th-century palace with beautifully landscaped gardens and ornate decor.

After Lunch, you will explore the Saadian Tombs, an important historical site that dates back to the late 16th century. The tombs were rediscovered in 1917 and feature intricate tile work and marble details that are a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the Saadian dynasty.

When you arrive in Casablanca, you’ll have the chance to visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world. Day 10: Casablanca to Rabat Airport

On your final day of the 10-day Morocco tour from Rabat, you’ll journey back to Rabat Airport from Casablanca, concluding your amazing adventure through this country.

Before leaving, you can further explore Casablanca, perhaps visiting the iconic Rick’s Cafe. Inspired by the film, it offers live music, delectable food, and an intimate ambiance.

En route to Rabat Airport, you’ll pass quaint towns and villages of the Moroccan countryside. Enjoy the scenic beauty, pause for photos or souvenir shopping.
