6 Days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech

Day 1: Tangier, Chefchaouen, and Fes

Pick up from your Tangier hotel or from the port or airport. We will be waiting for you with a sign with your name, and the adventure will begin when you arrive. We will take you on a fascinating tour of the old town (medina), the kasbah, and Tangier, including a visit to the Tangier American Legation Museum, the sole historic landmark of the United States outside of the United States.

The walking tour of the Medina will also include a visit to the city’s greatest landmark, the fortified Kasbah. After our walking tour, we’ll stop for lunch at a typical Moroccan restaurant or, if possible, in a local house with a Moroccan family.

After lunch, we’ll continue our Morocco adventure by exploring the surrounding countryside and stopping to visit the Caves of Hercules on the Atlantic, which are associated with the Greek hero Hercules. This fascinating cave is shaped like an African map. Hercules is said to have slept here after digging the Strait of Gibraltar. We will also explore Tangier’s hills, where the architecture harkens back to the city’s colonial era, when it was ruled by the English, Americans, French, and Spaniards. afternoon Leaving to Chefchaouen, the blue town.

Following arrival in Chefchaouen, sometimes known as the Rif Mountains’ jowl, we will visit Chefchaouen, a white and blue city with well-preserved Arab-Andalusia art and traditions. Chaouen, or Chefchaouen in Berber, is one of the most picturesque settlements in the Rif Mountains. It is the final rampart standing between the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula.  You will continue your way to Fes where you’ll spend the night.

Day 2: Fes Sightseeing Tour with Local Guide

During this full-day tour to Fes, you will explore Morocco’s cultural and spiritual hub. Fes is Morocco’s oldest imperial city (the other two being Marrakech and Rabat) and one of the most interesting to visit. The city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has not suffered much colonial construction, allowing you to appreciate its mediaeval charm. Fes is made up of two old medina neighbourhoods, Fes el Bali (where you will spend the majority of your time) and Fes el Jdid (a slightly younger portion of town), as well as the early twentieth-century French-designed Ville Nouvelle.

After breakfast, begin at Fes el Bali with your guide to help you traverse the tiny and maze-like historic lanes of the medinas (789 CE). As you stroll through the several souks (markets) selling spices, leather items, and pewter, take note of the Spanish and Tunisian-influenced architecture.

You will visit the famed Chouara Tannery and climb to the roof of an adjacent shop for a better view of the goings-on in this town known for its tanneries and the bitter scent associated with them.

After Lunch, you will visit the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa and enjoy the zellij tile work before heading to Al-Qarawiyyin University, one of the world’s oldest and still operational universities (859 CE). Discover the Mellah (ancient Jewish district) in Fes el Jdid for a different perspective on the city.

You will also visit artisan workshops in the Medina, which are still operating today as they were 100 years ago and play an important role in the city’s industrial sector. Blacksmithing, leatherworking, porcelain, silk, tapestries, and sculpting are all still done in these studios today. The historic city’s original ramparts still defend it and its estimated 9000 small tunnels and lively streets. Overnight and dinner in the hotel.

Day 3: Fes, Ifrane, Azrou cedar forest, and Merzouga Desert

After breakfast in your hotel or riad, the third day of our 6-day desert journey from Tangier to Marrakech begins. Then, travel to Morocco’s spectacular Sahara desert.

You will travel via the Atlas Mountains in the middle. Your first stop will be in “Ifrane city”, regarded as the “Switzerland of Morocco”. There, you may take in the city’s wonderful views and Forest. Later, You’ll stop in “Azrou” to see the monkeys in the cedar forest (Barbary Macaque). We’ll have time on the journey to take pictures with monkeys.

Our 6-day tour from Tangier to Merzouga. Continue to the city of “Midelt” for lunch at a local eatery (Optional). Following that, you will travel to the Sahara desert, passing via “Tizi n’Talghamt” to reach “Errachidia” city while admiring the sights of the Ziz gorges.

Furthermore, You will get free time to capture pictures & Memorable moments amid the panoramic views of “Ziz valley”. Our 6-day Tangier to Merzouga desert excursion continues to Merzouga Erg Chebbi via Tafilalte Oasis “Aoufous” and “Erfoud” (Know for its fossils Museums and dates).

You will go to a local fossils craft workshop. You will reach in the Sahara desert three hours before sunset. Where you will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To get to our Merzouga Sahara luxury camp, we ride camels into the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. The camel riding adventure lasts roughly 2 hours, including a pause on top of the dune to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views.

Take pictures and enjoy the scenery. Following that, you’ll proceed to the camp, where you’ll be greeted with a glass of mint tea and will be able to relax until dinner time. Following dinner, you will enjoy traditional Berber drumming music, the starry sky, shooting stars, campfires, and the exchange of cultures and histories with nomads.

Day 4: Merzouga, Todra Gorges and Dades Valley

Getting up early in the morning is essential if you want to see the gorgeous sunrise. After breakfast, you leave the desert to visit Rissani, Tafilalet’s old capital. Rissani is still a significant trading centre in the region. Featuring a bustling souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a stroll around Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit one of the fossilised marble workshops.

Afterwards you will travel through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has cut a massive canyon through the mountains. Rock climbers will love this high red cliff-sided canyon. Feel free to roam through the gorges and take in the scenery. Lunch at a restaurant. Afterwards we proceed to the Dades valley through Boumalne Dades. Stops are unavoidable at the “monkey fingers” rock formation and a vantage point on a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel are included.

Day 5: Dades Valley, Ait Ben-Haddou and Marrakech

The 6 day Morocco tour from Tangier continues after breakfast to Kalaa Magouna to view the Rose Valley. Every year in May, a Rose Festival is held when residents sell their rose items such as fragrances, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. You will drive through Skoura’s palm orchards and to Amredhyle’s Kasbah. Then you will arrive in Ouarzazate. You will go to the studios where great movies were made, as well as the Taourirt Kasbah.

You  will next depart towards Ait Ben Haddou’s famed Kasbah. A fortified settlement designated by UNESCO as a World Historic Site. Additionally, the Kasbah has appeared in numerous films, including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and others. As well as TV shows such as Game of Thrones. Afterwards you will go to the Telouet Kasbah. Afterwards you will proceed to Marrakesh over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Lunch and photo stops will be made at fascinating locations. Eventually, you will drop you off at your Riad in Marrakesh.

Day 6: Marrakech Sightseeing Tour with Local Guide

On your last day of 6-day tour from Tangier, you’ll be seeing Marrakech with a native guide, taking in the sights and sounds of one of Morocco’s most interesting and historic cities.

You’ll begin the day at the Bahia Palace, a magnificent 19th-century palace that previously housed Moroccan monarchy. You’ll be able to tour the palace’s lovely gardens and fascinating architecture while learning about its rich history and cultural significance.

Then we’ll go to the Saadian Tombs, a complex of tombs that dates back to the 16th century but was only recently uncovered. You’ll be able to explore the tombs and learn about the Saadian dynasty’s unique history and culture.

We’ll then proceed to the renowned Koutoubia Mosque, one of Morocco’s largest and most magnificent mosques. You’ll be able to see the spectacular architecture and learn about the mosque’s significance in Moroccan history and culture.

We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant where you may sample some of the great local cuisine. You’ll be able to sample some of Marrakech’s famed traditional Moroccan delicacies, such as tagine and couscous.

After lunch, we’ll visit Marrakech’s bustling souks, where you can buy everything from spices and fabrics to jewellery and pottery.
