8 Days Tour from Marrakech Itinerary

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – DADS VALLEY:

On the first day of your 8-day tour from Marrakech, we begin exploring other areas. Passing through the Tizi N Tichka pass of the Atlas Mountains, you’ll have opportunities to capture the Berber way of life in photos and explore Telouet’s 17th-century kasbah.

Next, we’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, and enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant before continuing to Ouarzazate, known as “the gate to the desert.” Here, you’ll tour the Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Studios, which attract international filmmakers.

Moving on, we journey through Roses towards the Dades Gorges, culminating in a traditional Moroccan dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or hotel within the Dades Gorges.

DAY 2: DADES VALLEY – TODGHA GORGE – MERZOUGA SUNSET:

Your trip to the desert will go on. After breakfast at the riad, we’ll travel to the Todra gorges, where you can stroll beneath the 300-meter-high cliff and take in the panoramic views of Berber communities perched above the valley. A lot of rock climbers come here to practice their favorite hobby.

You continue your journey through the breathtaking Sahara Oasis landscapes of Merzouga, where you will spend the night in a small accommodation. 

DAY 3: MERZOUGA Tour and Luxury desert camp:

Your third day will begin, and you’ll go to a community where dark-skin residents with roots in Sub-Saharan Africa live with Gnawa culture and music. We’ll stop in Mefes, a tiny, deserted town famous for its lead mining and minerals, along the route to a nomadic family.

We will move to a knowledgeable camel man who will be waiting for you to commence the camel ride and explore the lovely Erg-Chebbi wavy sand dunes. You’ll stop to rest, enjoy the sunset, and practice sandboarding.

You’ll spend the night in a typical Berber-style nomad tent after a long day of exploring the desert, where you’ll have a sumptuous meal and music celebration around the fire.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA – DESERT – IFRANE – FES:

To see one of the most famous sunrises in the world, we’ll wake you up early morning. Then, as you make your way back to Merzouga, you’ll take in the extraordinary splendor of the magnificent Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

You’ll depart for Fes across the Ziz valley after breakfast. You’ll first make a stop in the fossil-rich town of Erfoud. Then, we’ll drive to the Tafilalt oases via the Oued Ziz and the Ziz Gorges and make a  stop in Errachidia along the way for lunch and to experience authentic Berber hospitality.

We continue our journey through the Cedar Forest to Azrou, which in the local Berber language means “rock.” This rocky hill is home to the endangered Barbary Apes and is surrounded by a lush cedar forest.

The next stop is Ifrane, a tidy and modern city that feels more like Switzerland relocated to the Middle Atlas. In the late afternoon, you will be driven to FES for the night in our hotel/Riad.

Day 5: Explore the Imperial of Fes:

The oldest of Morocco’s four imperial towns, Fes is well worth visiting. You will meet your local guide there for a half-day tour to see the entire city, beginning with the medina, which is the oldest medina in the country and was established more than a thousand years ago.

The city of Fes is made up of two parts: Fes el Bali and Fes el-Jadid. Talaa Kebira, “the Great Slope/Climb,” is one of the longest and most important streets in Fes el-Bali.

Next, visit the stunning Al-Attarine Madrasa. This madrasa (school) is located in Fes, Morocco, near the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque. It was built by the Marinid sultan Uthman II Abu Said (1310-1331). Heading towards the new city, but before that be sure to visit el Mellah place for a fantastic view.

Day 6: Rabat and Casablanca:

Continue your 8-day trip to the historically significant capital of Rabat. Visit the Kasbah Des Oudaias, then go to the unfinished minaret known as Hassan Tower and discover the Roman and Islamic ruins at the medieval fortification of the Chellah Necropolis in the center of Rabat.
