6 Days trip From Marrakech to Desert Itinerary
DAY 1 : Marrakech – City Tour with local guide :
On the first day of arrival our guide will wait for you at the airport to take you to your hotel to drop off your stuff after that you will have a guided tour of Marrakech.
You will explore the main attractions and monuments of the city including the famous Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. We’ll also explore parts of the city such as Gueliz, The Menara Gardens, and Majorelle.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll get the chance to explore the city at your leisure. Night in.
DAY 2 : Marrakech – High Atlas mountains- Ait Ben Haddou- Ross Valley – Dades Valley :
After being picked up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech, your 6 days trip will take you through the Atlas mountains via the Tizi N Tichka Pass.
You’ll stop for photos of the Berber villages, and may even take a walk through some of them to get a true sense of Berber culture. Finally, you’ll visit a 17th-century kasbah in the town of Telouet.
Then we’ll continue our visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, where you’ll have lunch in a local restaurant nearby.
Then we’ll continue towards Ouarzazate, “The gate to the Desert”, where you’ll visit the Kasbah Taourirt and the atlas studios. This small city has embraced a group of international film producers due to its location and the adjacent castles.
After it was dubbed the Hollywood of Africa, the film industry began to thrive.
After that, we drive through Roses toward Dades gorges, Date with a traditional Moroccan dinner and overnight in a riad/hotel within the Dades gorges.
DAY 3: Dades valley – Todra gorges- Erfoud- Sahara desert :
Here, After breakfast, continue our tour to visit Todra Gorge, a colorful narrow canyon famous for outdoor lovers.
We’ll continue through the Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, an oasis town known as the gate to the Sahara desert and recognized for its unique fossils.
There is a local factory that produces artisans and house decor made from fossils.
You can also purchase such items as souvenirs from a local shop.
Then, drive in the direction of the desert to reach Merzouga, Overnight in luxury camp.
DAY 4: Dades valley – Todra gorges- Erfoud- Sahara desert :
This day will be spent exploring the Merzouga desert.
You’ll get a chance to “do your own thing”, with the option of camel trekking, or exploring via the comfort of a 4×4.
We’ll also visit the Khamlia village famous for its traditional music.
We simply can’t miss the opportunity of appreciating the sunset behind the dunes of the bewildering Sahara desert.
Our night will be at Riad/ hotel. Night in.
DAY 5: Sahara desert – Rissani – Alnif – Nkob – Draa valley – Ouarzazate :
Watch the impressive sunrise, then head back to camp for breakfast. Continuing our 6 days Marrakech desert trip to Merzouga, we’ll depart for the Palm grove of Tafilalet and the town of Rissani, where the Alaouite Dynasty originated.
Explore the ancient capital of the Alaouite Sultans, then continue on to the village of Alnif.
Take notice of the greyish-black mountains of different and remarkable shapes as you continue on to the main Berber village of Tazzarine and N’kob.
Then drive into the Draa Valley with its rows of stately palms.
By late afternoon, take the scenic route through the Anti-Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate
You’ll spend the last night at a traditional Riad or hotel in the movies city.
DAY 6: Ouarzazate – Airport :
This morning after your breakfast we will pick up you from your hotel and transfer to the airport.
