5 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Azrou – Erfoud – Merzouga:

During the first day of your 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech, you’ll travel through the large cedar forest of the Middle Atlas, home to the Atlas macaques. Then we’ll continue on to Errachidia through the Ziz valley. From there we’ll reach the city of Erfoud, the capital of dates.

We take a little break before continuing on to Merzouga, where our Desert Adventure will begin. As the caravan driver leads us down a trail in between the huge dunes of Erg Chebbi, our journey takes place on the backs of camels and take in the sunset among the expansive Moroccan dunes, before eating a great dinner served around the campfire in our Sahara camp, under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga desert discovery:

On this second day in the Sahara of Erg Chebbi you will join your camel’s caravan, and go for the best worldwide sunrise up dunes then walk back towards the village of Merzouga, to meet your vehicle to start your tour of the Merzouga region, first, we go to a nomadic family who live in tents and who practice the transhumance between the desert and the Atlas mountains.

Before heading back to Khamlia, we’ll visit the rock carvings in Taos. Once we get back, a Gnawa music and dance performance, a unique Berber pizza lunch will be served. The second night will be spent under the stars as we travel back to the Sahara camp on a camel caravan.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley:

The third day of our 5 days tour will be the day of our leaving the Sahara desert of Merzouga, the beautiful environment, and heading to a new destination. From there, we will continue our Fes Desert trip to the gorges of Todra, passing through Rissani and Tinjdad. After visiting the magnificent gorges you will admire the area which considers one of the most lovely attractions for tourists. Our next destination will be the town of Tinghir, where we will explore its ancient “Mellah.”

From there we travel through the beautiful landscapes and we stop at the Berber village of Imeder. Then we continue to Boumalne Dades to explore the valley. Then we follow the Dades valley Overnight in a local hotel with dinner and get ready for the next day.

Day 4: Ouarzazat –  Ait ben haddou – Marrakech:

After breakfast, we’ll go to Ouarzazate, the hub of the film industry and a favorite getaway for foreign directors. You will visit Atlas Studios. Next, go to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most well-known fortified villages in Morocco,  Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia have both used this UNESCO World Heritage Site, also referred to as the “Granada of the Desert,” as their backdrop.

Before proceeding into the Tizi n’Tichka hills, we’ll pause along the way to see the breathtaking landscapes and authentic Berber towns. Then, continuing on to Marrakech, where we will arrive in the late afternoon, we will make a dinner stop at a restaurant or Riad and spend the night there.

Day 5: Explore Marrakech:

Depending on your departure time, we will start our Marrakech guided tour. You will see the city’s top sights today, such as the well-known Jamaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. 

We’ll also take a look at Gueliz, The Menara Garden, and The Majorelle Garden, among other areas of the city. Your 5-day desert excursion from Fes to Marrakech will come to an end at this point and we ensure that you had so many souvenirs in Morocco in just a few days’ trips around.
