13 Days Tour from Tangier

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier, Transfer to Chefchaouen

Today, we start the 13 Days Tangier tour. We’ll pick you up from the airport, port, or your hotel. Our first stop is Hercules’ Grotto, linked to the saga of Hercules and Atlas. We pause at Cape Spartel’s old lighthouse, the gateway to the Strait of Gibraltar. After crossing from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, we explore Tangier’s Medina. Then, we continue to Chefchaouen.

Around midday, we find ourselves arriving at the charming and hospitable artist’s enclave. In the heart of the Rif mountains lies the charming village of Chefchaouen. We’ll guide you to your hotel there. You’ll also have a chance to stroll through the small medina, known for its vibrant art galleries. You can still find painted structures that have been carefully decorated for the event. Spend the night at a charming riad.

Day 2: sightseeing Chefchaouen the Blue City

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your riad. On 2^nd day of 13 Days tour from Tangier in Chefchaouen is great for exploring the Medina This is the heart of Chefchaouen, and it’s where you’ll find the famous blue-painted houses that give the city its nickname. The narrow streets are lined with shops selling everything from traditional crafts to modern souvenirs.

Next you will visit Kasbah Museum, located in the restored 15th-century fortress that once housed the city’s ruler. Inside, you’ll find displays of traditional Moroccan art and artifacts, as well as exhibits on the history of Chefchaouen.

Ras El Maa Waterfall, located just outside the city, this picturesque waterfall is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The surrounding park is a great place for a picnic or a leisurely stroll.

Small boutiques with local goods await you in the narrow lanes leading up the Rif mountain, where you can pick up a trinket or two or simply have a pleasant chat with one of the friendly Rif Berbers. A little further out, you can find wild watercourses and fountains. And for sunset, you may go to the high mosque. A breathtaking view of Chefchaouen and the Alps awaiting you. Spend another night at the same hotel or riad.

Day 3: Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes, and Fes

Morocco’s rich history and diverse culture make it a captivating country. On the second day of your visit, you’ll have a chance to explore some of its most intriguing sites. Chefchaouen, often called the Blue City, is one such place. It boasts charming blue-washed buildings, lively markets, and quaint narrow streets.

You can travel south to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with well-preserved ruins. Its streets, mosaics, and statues provide a vivid glimpse into Roman life.

After you explore Volubilis, you can continue your journey to Meknes, which used to be the imperial capital of Morocco. The city boasts historic landmarks like the Bab Mansour gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the Heri es-Souani granaries. Here, you can enjoy strolling through bustling markets and immersing yourself in the captivating sights and sounds of this intriguing city.

When it comes to dining, Morocco presents an array of delectable traditional dishes. One example is tagine, a savory slow-cooked stew that you can prepare with meat, poultry, or vegetables. Another option is couscous, a staple grain dish. You’ll also find harira, a fragrant and filling soup made from lentils, tomatoes, and chickpeas, as well as b’stilla, a savory-sweet pastry filled with pigeon or chicken, almonds, sugar, and cinnamon.

In Morocco, food is integral to the culture. If you have nut allergies, be cautious while eating out. Ask about ingredients and tell your server about dietary needs for a safe and pleasant dining time. Once in Fès, we will transfer you to your accommodation – a traditional riad.

Day 4: Sightseeing Fes Guided Tour

es is one of the most famous cities in Morocco, known for its rich cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and vibrant markets. A guided tour of the city provides an opportunity to explore some of its most fascinating destinations.

You will visit the Royal Palace, an architectural masterpiece, with its ornate gates, beautiful gardens, and intricate tile work. Although the palace is not open to the public, visitors can admire its grandeur from the outside.

Bou Inania Madrasa is a stunning Islamic school that dates back to the 14th century also visited by you. It features beautiful mosaics, intricate carvings, and a peaceful courtyard that provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

After a delicious lunch, tou will visit one of the most unique and fascinating sights in Fes, he tanneries, where workers use traditional methods to dye and soften leather. Visitors can observe the process from the rooftop terraces of nearby shops.

The Medina, with its small lanes, spice merchants, Berber carpets, traditional handicrafts, and other attractions, is also on the itinerary. Return to your riad for the night after lunch at a typical local eatery.

Day 5: Fes, Ifrane, Cedar Forest, Midelt, Ziz vally and Merzouga

On day five of your Morocco trip, you’ll have an unforgettable journey from Fes to the Sahara Desert, witnessing stunning natural landscapes along the way.

Starting in Ifrane, a picturesque town in the Middle Atlas Mountains, admired for its Alpine architecture and scenic beauty, your next destination is the Cedar Forest. This expansive nature reserve houses the endangered Barbary macaque and offers a splendid setting for picnics and nature walks.

Continuing onward, your route leads you through the captivating Ziz Valley. This striking gorge, edged by towering cliffs and winding roads, treats you to awe-inspiring vistas. Following this, you’ll reach Midelt, a charming town nestled beneath the High Atlas Mountains. Noted for its remarkable geology and authentic crafts, Midelt welcomes your visit.

Leaving Midelt, your journey proceeds to Merzouga, a quaint town bordering the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll spend the night in a traditional desert camp. En route, you’ll traverse the breathtaking Tizi n’Talghemt pass, granting sweeping panoramas of the desert expanse.

Upon reaching Merzouga, you can venture into the expansive and surreal Sahara Desert. Experience towering sand dunes, mesmerizing sunsets, and a captivating canopy of stars. Spend the night in a traditional Berber tent, and enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars.

Day 6: Exploring Merzouga

After enjoying a delightful Moroccan breakfast including olives, tajine egg dishes, fresh warm bread, and delicious desserts, we proceed with a brief regional tour as part of the 13 Days  Morocco Trip from Tangier program. We’ll take you directly through the dunes, across enormous fields famous for fossil findings and old abandoned coal mines. We pay a visit to the Gnawa musicians, where old drum patterns are being played, and learn about their history.

Your adventure begins with a desert drive to the starting point. There, you’ll meet your guide and reliable camels, your transportation for the desert trek. Camels are ideal for the tough terrain and harsh temperatures.

As you start  on your camel trek, you will likely be awed by the vastness and beauty of the Sahara. The landscape is constantly changing, with towering sand dunes, rocky outcroppings, and flat stretches of desert all around you. You will also have the opportunity to interact with local nomadic tribes who call the desert their home, and learn about their unique way of life.

You will have tea with genuine nomads in their traditional tent made of hand-woven black wool. And sample Berber food in a regional restaurant with a Madfouna, the famed Berber pizza that may also be made over a fire. The afternoon is now again yours. It’s time to unwind or go exploring in the sand dunes on your own. If you want to try your hand at surfing, the hotel will gladly furnish you with a surfboard. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 7: Merzouga, Rissani, Todra Gorges, and Dades Valley

On the seven day of your 13 days tour from tangier, you will continue your journey through some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the country, traveling from the Sahara Desert to the stunning Todra Gorges and Dades Valley.

Your first stop is Rissani, a historic town that was once an important center for trade and commerce, and is now known for its colorful markets, traditional crafts, and historic monuments. You can explore the town on foot, and experience the unique atmosphere of this ancient crossroads of the Sahara.

From Rissani, you will continue on to the Todra Gorges, a spectacular series of canyons that cut through the High Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking views and stunning photo opportunities. You can take a leisurely hike through the gorges, stopping to admire the crystal-clear pools and stunning rock formations.

Next, you will travel to the Dades Valley, a beautiful region that is known for its picturesque villages, stunning landscapes, and traditional way of life. You can stop in the village of Boumalne Dades to explore its ancient kasbahs and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Finally, you will arrive at your destination for the evening, a traditional guesthouse in the heart of the Dades Valley. Here, you can relax and unwind, enjoying the peace and tranquility of this beautiful region, and perhaps taking a leisurely walk through the nearby fields and orchards.

Day 8: Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben-Haddou and Marrakech

On the eighth day of your 13-day tour fom Tangier, you will continue your journey from the Dades Valley to the vibrant city of Marrakech, with stops at some of the country’s most iconic cultural and historical sites along the way.

Your initial destination is Ouarzazate, a city renowned as the ‘gateway to the desert,’ and distinguished by hosting some of the nation’s most prominent film studios. While here, a visit to the renowned Atlas Film Studios is a must. These studios have provided the backdrop for numerous well-known movies and TV shows. Additionally, you can delve into history by exploring the storied Kasbah of Taourirt.

Continuing from Ouarzazate, you’ll reach Ait Ben-Haddou, a stunning fortified village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Delve into the maze-like streets of this historic town, famous for featuring in many movies and TV shows.

Finally, you will arrive in Marrakech, one of the most vibrant and colorful cities in Morocco, with a rich history and culture that is reflected in its many historic landmarks and attractions. You can explore the bustling souks and markets of the old city, visit the historic Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs, and enjoy the incredible food and nightlife that the city has to offer. We halt to take in the gorgeous scenery before returning to the plains of Marrakech. Drop you off at the Riad in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech Sightseeing

On the ninth day of your trip to Morocco, you will have the opportunity to explore the vibrant and historic city of Marrakech, with its many iconic landmarks, cultural attractions, and stunning architecture.

One of the highlights of your visit to Marrakech is sure to be the Koutoubia Mosque, an ancient and imposing structure that is one of the most important religious sites in the city. You can explore the mosque and its beautiful gardens, and admire the intricate tile work and stunning architecture that is so characteristic of Moroccan design.

Another must-see attraction in Marrakech is the Bahia Palace, a stunning example of the city’s traditional architecture and design. You can wander through the palace’s many courtyards and gardens, and marvel at the intricate tile work, carved plaster, and beautiful fountains that are found throughout the building.

Day 10: Marrakech to Essaouira

On the tenth day of your 13-day tour from Tangier, you will leave the hustle and bustle of Marrakech behind and head to the beautiful coastal city of Essaouira, a charming and historic town that has long been a favorite destination for travelers from around the world.

Heading to Essaouira, you’ll enjoy the captivating Moroccan countryside – picturesque hills, age-old villages, and abundant greenery. Pause en route to savor the country’s beauty, and maybe sample some delightful local food.

When you arrive in Essaouira, you will be greeted by a beautiful coastal city that is known for its stunning beaches, historic landmarks, and charming atmosphere. You can explore the city’s many narrow streets and alleys, taking in the beautiful architecture and soaking up the unique atmosphere of this ancient city.

One of the highlights of your visit to Essaouira is sure to be the city’s stunning beach, which is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the beautiful Moroccan sunshine. You can also explore the city’s historic ramparts and walls, which offer stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape.

Day 11: Essaouira to Casablanca

On the eleventh day of your trip to Morocco, you will leave the beautiful coastal city of Essaouira behind and head to the bustling metropolis of Casablanca, a modern and cosmopolitan city that is known for its stunning architecture, vibrant culture, and unique atmosphere.

As you make your way to Casablanca, you will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside of Morocco, with its rolling hills, ancient villages, and lush greenery. You can stop along the way to take in the sights and sounds of this amazing country, and perhaps even try some of the delicious local cuisine.

When you arrive in Casablanca, you will be greeted by a modern and vibrant city that is known for its stunning architecture and unique culture. You can explore the city’s many iconic landmarks, including the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world.

You can also visit the Corniche, a beautiful promenade that runs along the city’s stunning coastline and offers beautiful views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape.
