During this extensive tour around Morocco which will continue for ten days, you will enjoy the most beautiful touristic destination, starting from Marrakech, the international target for all people around the world to follow, with Essaouira and Taroudant, the spiritual cities. 10 Days Desert tour from Marrakech Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech Guided City Tour:
Depending on your arrival time, we’ll start the 10 days desert tour from Marrakech by having a guided tour of Marrakesh. During this day you will explore the main attractions and monuments Places of the city, including the famous Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums, we’ll also explore parts of the city such as Gueliz, The Menara, and Marjol garden, there you can spend the first night in a hotel or Riad.
Day 2: Marrakech to Essaouira:
As you leave your Riad after breakfast, we will move to a new destination Mogador or Essaouira city, and keep your eyes open for groves of argan trees! This is where Morocco’s liquid gold, argan oil, is produced. You may even have the chance to see goats climbing the trees!
Once you arrive, you will be free to spend the rest of your day exploring Essaouira. Visit SQALA port, or try some delicious seafood. You can also go for a camel ride, watch the panoramic sunset at the beach at the end of the day, and stay for the night at a local Riad.
Day 3- Discover Agadir:
On the third day, you will continue your luxurious tour to Agadir, with its panoramic views and relaxed atmosphere. You’ll head to the Agadir beach for a long walk before visiting the Souk El Hed (Sunday market) for traditional markets.
Meanwhile, we won’t miss seeing Agadir Oufla, which is one of the many historical sites located in the ancient city of Agadir. The kasbah was greatly affected by the earthquake in 1960, but the fort still stands tall on a mountain more than 236 meters from the sea. Visitors can catch the sunset at a local restaurant in Taghazout before heading back to Agadir.
Day 4: Taroudant, Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate:
Commence in the early morning toward Taroudant, a small Berber city in the southeast, where you’ll visit the local 100% Berber market. Pass through Taznakht to reach the site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage site). The Kasbah is a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls. It is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat.
You will have enough time to explore the area and take some beautiful photos. Lunch will be there before continuing to Ouarzazate for the night.
Day 5: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga desert:
Your exploration tour is still going on right here, we will move to visit Todra Gorge, a colorful narrow canyon famous for outdoor lovers. We’ll continue through the Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, an oasis town known as the gate to the Sahara desert and recognized for its unique fossils.
Discover the local factory that produces artisans and house decor made from fossils. You can also purchase such items as souvenirs from a local shop.
Drive towards Rissani and visit the local souk. Then, drive in the direction of the desert to reach Merzouga. Overnight in a local hotel.
Day 6: Exploring Merzouga Sahara Desert:
We’ll spend the day exploring the Merzouga desert. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the desert in a 4×4. We’ll also visit Khamlia village, famous for its traditional music called Gnawa music.
Gazing at the breathtaking sunset behind the dunes of the Sahara desert, we are reminded of nature’s beauty and vastness.
Leaving our vehicle behind, we set out on a camel ride into the rolling desert dunes, guided by experienced desert experts. Upon reaching the Merzouga Desert Camp, our home for the night, we’re welcomed into cozy Berber tents.
This unforgettable night will be made even more special with a traditional Berbere dinner served under the stars, with tribal music around a desert campfire.
Day 7: Merzouga – Midelt – Fes:
The day after, you’ll wake up early to enjoy the view of the sunrise over the dunes, then take a camel ride back to the hotel. After a hearty Moroccan breakfast and shower, we will leave for Ziz valley. We’ll stop here so you can admire the wonderful panoramic view of the Ziz palm oasis and gorges.
After lunch in Midelt, we’ll continue to Azrou by crossing the Middle Atlas mountains and their cedar forest. Wild monkeys will be waiting for you to feed them. Before arriving in Fes, we’ll stop for a while to rest in Ifrane, a European-style town also known as the Switzerland of Morocco. In the evening, we’ll arrive in Fes and have dinner at the Riad.
Day 8: Fes guided tour:
The eighth day of your journey will get started with eating breakfast at your riad, then go to explore the ancient Fes medina with a local tour guide. You’ll visit interesting sites like the 8th century Moulay Driss II Mosque, the Nejjarine Fountain, and more. The Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter (with its 16th-century origins as the first Mellah in Morocco), the world’s oldest university Al Qarawiyin, and the Tanneries are all waiting to be discovered in Fez.
At a traditional restaurant, you will have a delicious lunch before exploring the narrow, winding streets of the medina. In the evening, enjoy an appetizing meal at a local restaurant and then stay the night in a traditional riad or hotel in Fes.
Day 9: FES – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – CASABLANCA:
Start your adventure early in the morning by departing from Fes and visiting Volubilis Roman ruins. As you explore these wonderful historic buildings, you’ll notice the gorgeous landscape.
Later, we’ll drive to Meknes city. There you will have the opportunity to visit Bab El Mansour, Moulay Idris Zerhoun, and more historical spots that Meknes is famous for. To spend the night, we’ll proceed to Casablanca.
Day 10: Casablanca – Marrakech:
The last day of your tour will be spent exploring all that Casablanca has to offer, including the Hassan II Mosque. After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll be heading back to Marrakesh to end our 10 days desert trip from Marrakech.
